Markley Lawrence "Mark" Prince, III, 80, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Merle Riley Prince entered into eternal rest Tuesday, July 30, 2013. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 3, 2013, in The Church of The Good Shepherd, 1393 Miles Drive, at 10:00 am. Interment with Military Honors at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Mark was born September 23, 1932 in Charleston, South Carolina, the son of Percy Prince Sr. and Sadie Cameron Prince. He was a retired Master Sergeant with the United States Army, serving his country for 22 years. He was also a retired residential builder. He was a life member of The Elks Lodge and very active in The Church of The Good Shepherd in various capacities including Senior Warden, Junior Warden, Lay Deacon, Lay Reader, Eucharistic Minister, Cursillo Rector. He served the Diocese of South Carolina in many leadership capacities. Mark was also dedicated and passionate about Feeding the Multitude. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Merle Riley Prince of Charleston; daughters, Donna P. (Bill) Lathem of Tampa, FL, Elaine P. (Ken) Reed of Knoxville, TN; sons, Timothy C. (Donna) Prince of Summerville, Richard K. (Angel) Prince of Charleston; sisters, Dorothy (Marion) Richardson of Awendaw, SC, Daisey Walsh of Charleston; 15 grandchildren, Chad Prince, Brandt Prince, Mark Prince V, Jessica Villar, Amber Boles, Bill Lathem, Brent Waugh, Craig Prince, Christoper Prince, Cody Prince, Cole Prince, Corbin Prince, Michael Prince, Amelia Prince, Riley Prince; and 6 great grandchildren.
